There's more to this emblem on the fan than it seems. To Rinne, it holds a profound meaning. Not only does it allow her to see the aura of ghosts, it also strengthens her control over them.

A Cloud Island priestess who's learned and poised. Raised by the general who rules Cloud Island, she hopes to help the people with her strength.
Name: Rinne
Nickname: Kagura Bell
Gender: Female
Height: 5'5''
Birthday: July 12
Birthplace: Koufu-jou
Element: Fire
Affiliation: The Independent
Fighting Style: Divination
Upon hearing that Ms. Rinne would also be visiting the Colossus, %s immediately ordered the Fireflies to make the Colossus spotless, presumably because "they didn't want Rinne to think that the Colossus was dirty"... But even if Ms. Rinne was a priestess, isn't cleaning the entire Colossus a little too much?
Once Ms. Rinne entered the Colossus, she headed straight to the Bridge without saying a word. She took out a white handkerchief and cleaned her fingers carefully. Then, she stood in front of the console and bowed deeply twice before standing upright and clapping her hands twice before ending in a final deep bow... Upon seeing that, even I thought Ms. Rinne was going to do something bad to the Colossus!
After that, Ms. Rinne finally spoke and explained that she had just performed a ritual to honor the gods, mainly to inform the God of the Colossus that she was coming to stay for a few days... To which %s was relieved. Later, Ms. Rinne strung ropes and pieces of paper around the Prism Pillar and proceeded to sit under it every day with her eyes closed... As mysterious as it may have looked, it seems that as long as Ms. Rinne is around, I don't have to worry about cleaning the Colossus anymore, which is a good thing.

Gosh, I can't believe %s wants to know my story. You may be disappointed though. Priestesses aren't known to live interesting lives, and since I'm one, my life isn't much different...
Now that I think back, I didn't grow up wanting to be a priestess. I can still recall life in Koufu-jou with my parents when I was just a young child. At that time, Koufu-jou wasn't the prosperous place it is now, but through years of war, it was the only place on Cloud Island where one could possibly still live comfortably. Every day, my parents would toil endlessly from sunrise to sunset. Despite all their pain and suffering, the money they brought back was barely enough to feed and clothe the family. Even then, my parents always encouraged me to pursue my passions, such as reading and studying... But I just wanted to get a job as soon as possible to improve my family's living conditions.
And then one day, my life changed forever...
It was when the war that had plagued Cloud Island for many years finally came to an end, and the general from the main island took over the entire Cloud Island. Our people felt humiliated to be ruled by an outsider, but for poorer families, peace gave them hope for a more stable life...
I returned home one day to find several samurai standing at the door. They insisted that I was to take part in a selection, but they didn't say a word about what the selection was for... Though uneasy, I left my parents behind and went with them. Surrounded by samurai, I entered Koufu-jou's largest and most luxurious house.
The floor, made of precious wood, resounded with the dull thuds of samurai footsteps, and I was too scared to lift my head to see what was on the screen adorned with gold leaf. The man sitting in the center of the room told me to "look up" as I bowed deeply to the ground, and I could not refuse.
"Very good." His voice was like a gust of cold wind, and it made my hair stand on end, "Get on with the plan now."
I was informed by those around me that, I had been handpicked by the general as a priestess to pray for the future blessings of Cloud Island because of my outstanding spiritual powers. I was then assigned to learn how to read and write... and even learn the art of enchantment! I couldn't wait to write to my parents to tell them how excited I was, but then I got the news that both of them had died.
They told me that the general had given my parents fertile land and fine clothes and that they had been living contentedly before contracting a plague... If only I had learned the art of expelling demons sooner, perhaps... Perhaps my parents wouldn't have died like this. Overwhelmed with grief, all I wanted was to be left alone. And yet, someone approached me despite my protestations, knelt down and hugged me, and said, "I'm sorry. It's all my fault. You can put the blame squarely on me... But if your heart allows, I could be your family from now on... I could be your father."
I looked up and saw the general's face up close for the first time. He seemed... less cold than I first perceived.
People think that those at the top are interested in but glory and wealth, yet only I know how hard the general toils for Cloud Island every single day. I was grateful to the general for his kindness towards me and I hoped to be able to share his burdens. The only thing I could do was work to become a capable priestess. Because of this, I set myself to reading and practicing my dance every day without a moment's rest. After intensive training on the main island for four years, I finally became a true priestess.
I couldn't wait to show off my years of training... But for some reason, Cloud Island locals were always giving me dirty looks. The more I tried to help, the more they stayed away from me. They accused me of being a traitor of Cloud Island as I had chosen to dedicate my life to the general... but I turned a blind eye to their actions. They didn't know how hard the general worked, hence they were unable to trust him, and one of my duties as a priestess was to eliminate the rift between them.
But... After meeting you, all that changed... Even the cause of my parents' death so many years ago... But no matter what, as long as I remain a priestess, I'll continue to fulfill my mission until... my last breath.
Navigator...
Greetings, Navigator.
I'm sorry. I didn't receive your message earlier.
Good day.
Navigator...
Please tell me...
Morning. I hope I didn't disturb you.
Morning.
Another peaceful morning.
Good morning, Navigator.
Good afternoon, Navigator.
I heard you like to take a break at noon?
Please excuse me.
Navigator...
That day, the Kagura Bell rang, and Rinne taught you the customs of Cloud Island...
I'm missing the city, where I can look beyond the clouds.
Lumopolis worships only one god, quite different from my religion.
Living a free life can be a luxury.
Set up barriers with hemp rope all over the Colossus and those things won't be able to break in.
Kayano is a good kid. She doesn't know stalking is improper...
Yao is innocent and adorable, like a little puppy.
Those sparkling things are fireflies? How lovely!
The vile presence doesn't belong to this world. I better burn it with my cleansing power.
The Colossus is so full of light without any vile presence. I love it.
How can the priestess help? Please don't be shy. Tell me what you'd like.
Ahh... The work here is very different from my priestess training.
The vile presence...
All the vile presence shall be removed.
Here I pray...
Happy New Year, Navigator. Please allow me to cleanse all vile presence and pray for safety with my Kagura Bells.
You can trust me with it.
I can fight at ease now...
I can feel an unprecedented spiritual force.
I will make good use of this cleansing power.
Oh... The Navigator is absentminded? Laziness is one kind of vile presence too. Do you need my cleansing spell?
Thank you for your trust.
Alchemy Stars.
As long as I'm here, no one can invade.
Besides performing my duties as the priestess, I am also good at playing musical instruments and handling paperwork.
I lost one of my Kagura Bells. Could you help me look for it?
Meditation, prayer, cleaning... The priestess' life is actually quite boring.
We believe there is a deity living in everything, from mountains to lakes, from rock to wood. These deities are protecting us at all times.
The priestess' magic barrier protects the priestess and everything she cares about.
Can my cleansing power heal your wound?
My magic barrier can resist vile presence but has its limit. Please do not run too far away.
My spiritual power can be released more smoothly when I am around you. Is this the Caelestite's special power or blessing from our mutual empathy?
Navigator, need a break?
My priestess training is about to start. Would you like to join me?
You want to know which god I worship? Well, every priestess has a secret.
The priestess is always in her best form whenever and wherever.
Good morning, Navigator! I will assist you in your tasks today.
Good evening, Navigator! How was your day?
The vile presence is most active at night. Navigator, would you like to cleanse vile presence with me?
Rinne, the priestess of Cloud Island, is responding to your call. Please allow me to follow you and assist you on this journey.
Oh the cleansing power...
The priestess' life is quite boring. I would have been living the same day over and over again if not for you.
People distrust in others is the cause of enmity and conflict. It's the priestess' responsibility to eliminate suspicion and jealousy.
Life has been fun and exciting since I joined you on this journey. It's not as safe and peaceful as Cloud Island, but I don't dislike it.
Everyone, follow me.
Whale Converter (B)
(A at BT3)
A
(S+ at BT3)
+At BT3: Preemptive conversion is vital
+Highest tile conversion rate in the game at 9 tiles per 4 rounds (compare to Preemptives' 4 tiles per 3 rounds, or Cross Converter's 11-ish per 5)
+Excellent for long maps which require multiple burst turns.
-Rest of kit is inconsequential
-Longer then average CD hampers her overall efficiency without BT3
-Random tile placement can occasionally cause trouble.
-Captain switching gimmick is negligible (if useful in very rare scenarios)
Rinne is a character who lives or dies by her first breakthrough. At BT0, it takes about nine turns (and many significant trade-offs in terms of tile selection) for her to out-pace a BT0 Eicy or Faust; at BT3, it's almost instantaneous. The further loss of the first turn burst is also fairly noticeable, as it a.) slows down your general gameplay and b.) matters a lot in end-game content like Spire and Calamity Codex, where health actually matters a decent amount. However, her actual output at BT3 is absolutely nuts - in long stages (10+ round stages where timer matters), she will generally earn you one or two extra burst turns (a pretty major bump to overall damage).
