A judge of the Lumo Hall of Justice, he is rather strait-laced, pragmatic, and resolute in his conviction. Now, in the name of justice, he is digging deeper into past cases to uncover a hidden truth.

Mr. Wayne Pittman of Lumopolis... I heard this name when I was studying abroad—they all said he was a complicated man to get to know.
When I first saw Pittman aboard the Colossus... How should I say this—he really lived up to my expectations of everything the Lumo Hall of Justice stands for. He looked dignified, stoic, often wearing a frown and radiating an unapproachable aura.
Pittman's left arm looked very special and seemed to have been modified in some way. When I cautiously asked him about it, I didn't expect to receive the detailed answer he gave me. He talked at length about how the sun and Lumopolis blessed his arm and his reasons for becoming a judge. As he told me about all this, I couldn't detect even a trace of that domineering attitude most nobles of his standing speak with. On the contrary, he was kind and calm, even to the point of making me feel a little uncomfortable.
Basically, I can safely say that Pittman is a nice man—a devout believer whose faith carries him boldly down his chosen path.

Are you looking at my arm? The truth is, I wasn't as strong as I am now. Although you can't see it now, my right arm was broken when I was very young, and I almost missed my opportunity to enter the Dawn Academy. At that time, all I could do was lie in bed all day. Fortunately, being in Lumopolis, I was equally illuminated by the blessings of the sun. The light guided me every day, imbuing me with its healing faith. The sun treats everyone equally, and as long as you firmly believe in its light, the sun will always bless you with its protection. It is such an equal and just entity, and I endeavored to emulate its greatness in kind. Since then, I have strived to align myself with its magnanimity in all things. And I believe that I am now approaching the culmination of its will.
Of course, before officially becoming a judge, I also experienced my fair share of trials. If I have the opportunity, I'd be willing to recount them to you.
I was destined to follow the path of a judge—one who champions justice. Of course, this was also the result of my parents' expectations. As my frailty delayed my admission, when I finally entered Dawn Academy, Chief Judge Irridon had already been instated as my senior.
To tell the truth, when I was a student, I worked tirelessly to make the Chief Judge see my potential... No, it would be more accurate to say I saw her as my main competitor. It was really quite childish, I know. The Chief Judge has always displayed such excellent talent worthy of her position. Whether as a senior of Dawn Academy or the head of the Hall of Justice, whenever I was in her presence, I found myself humbled by her overwhelming majesty. During the war, when I was still recuperating at home under my father's restrictive guardianship, she fought on the battlefield with her father. As a result of a grievous injury, her legs were left permanently disabled...
There are many other stories from that war, but let's save them for another day.
When I first became a Hall of Justice trial court investigator, my first assignment was in Umbraton. As a result of the Pyrrhus rebellion, our team was faced with a series of incidents, such as blood crystal outbreak, Eclipsites surges, Eclipse ambushes—the list goes on. My teammates suffered heavy casualties, and I was forced to return to Lumopolis to recuperate.
Therefore, the year the Eclipsites besieged Umbraton, my father firmly opposed my wishes to join him in the support effort on the front line, and I never saw him again. It was not until my father's comrades sent me the Staff of Raging Thunder, a relic left to me by my father, that I made up my mind to complete my father's mission.
Life in the army tempered my will and strengthened my body. My left arm is proof of my glory. In the final battle before the end of the war, the Staff of Raging Thunder ended up being thrust into my left shoulder, pinning me to the ground... With the last of my strength, I pulled it out and finally unleashed its hidden power.
I wouldn't say that the Staff of Raging Thunder destroyed my left arm—on the contrary, without it, I might have died on the front line. Illumina constructed a system of mechanical bones for my arm. As you can see, it now works flawlessly.
After returning to Lumopolis from the front line, I finally became a judge, and this position took on a new meaning for me. By reading the past records of the Hall of Justice, I came across something strange regarding the story behind the Pyrrhus rebellion. The chief culprit behind the unrest was, in fact, Mirren of the Gautier family.
But what caused Mirren Gautier to descend into madness, and why did the Eclipse suddenly appear in Umbraton...? I then came across a familiar name in the investigation report: Paloma Pyrrhus.
I once helped Paloma, a girl who was constantly bullied by the upper-class nobles of Dawn Academy. We accepted the blessings of the sun together and vowed to be citizens of Lumopolis forever... She would later become a member of the True Order. I will never forgive those heretics who falsely use their so-called truth to justify their actions, nor can I forgive traitors who betray Lumopolis.
At present, the reasons behind this series of anomalies in the records are still inconclusive. White Night up high, in the name of justice, I will never stop investigating the truth.
Are you interested in my mechanical bones?
You have an exceptional psychic ability, don't you?
Hello, Navigator.
Thank you for helping me with this, Navigator.
I hate people who try to make it look like personal heroism is the greatest thing there is.
Morning.
Dark clouds are gathering above. It may rain today.
Do you know how I can stop myself from feeling so sleepy?
I have a question that I wanted to ask since I got out of bed today.
I'm having dinner.
What do you think of Lumopolis?
Good afternoon, Navigator.
Pittman suddenly comes up to you with a pair of sunglasses... What could have happened to make him behave so out of character?
You and Pittman agreed to meet in front of the gates of Lumopolis. You arrive, as agreed...
Like the eternal God of Light, Lumopolis will never fall!
The True Order? They brazenly use the word truth to confuse the public. I'm afraid the God of Light will never forgive them.
White Night up high!
When I see an Eclipsite, I make sure to put it in its place. They can be found guilty without trial.
Back then, I never imagined that she would become a member of the True Order...
My senior at the academy and my senior at work... The Chief Judge has always been ahead of me.
We each have our own position and duty, and the beauty of order is irreplaceable.
To go beyond all rules, systems, and laws—there is nothing more detestable.
There are no laws here on the Colossus at present... I think it's time to make one.
I need a quiet place to pray.
As long as I have a surface on which to read my files, I don't care where I end up. This place is very spacious. It suits me perfectly.
I didn't investigate thoroughly enough...
For justice!
Behold!
Obey the law, from the New Year onward.
Excellent.
Strength... It's filling my entire body!
The thunder... it roars for me.
Sin now has nowhere to hide!
Catching fugitives is my favorite pastime. Would you like to try it, too? Hmm... You'd better work on your physique before joining me, though.
This growth is sustainable.
Alchemy Stars!
If you have a problem, we shall meet in the Hall of Justice. Procedure is the blindfold of justice, so I won't be partial to either side.
There is no doubt that the almighty God of Light is the creator of all things, and the savior of all life. There is nothing difficult to understand—just remember this truth.
You wish to sit in on one of my trials? Sorry, I can't authorize that. You'll need to go to the Hall of Justice to register and verify your identity. Rules are rules.
Whenever I clench the staff in my hand, my father's voice begins to echo in my ears. "The Pittman family can't have two men on the battlefield at the same time," that's what he said to me back then.
I have been to the front line and bled on the battlefield. Therefore, I truly understand that everything we have in this world is won at a price.
Huh? Take a look, if you want. These mechanical bones were customized by Illumina. Without them, my whole left arm would be no more.
Many people prefer to achieve their goals through political means rather than by improving their abilities. In my opinion, you seem to be different from those people.
If you could have studied at Dawn Academy in your early years, you would also have been an outstanding student and achieved the best results. Of course, it's not too late.
The last person I admired this much was the Chief Judge. The younger generation will indeed surpass the old! I am excited to see how you will grow in the future.
Under the God of Light, all beings are equal. Each of us has the chance to receive God's grace.
There are many injustices recorded in my notes. But what of it? Anyway, I'll solve them one by one.
Follow the guidance of the God of Light. God will make you see your heart—be kind to others and to yourself.
It's time for work now. If you'd like to talk about something unrelated to work, please leave it until break time.
Good morning. At this time, while my head is clear, I usually sort through the unsolved matters in my mind.
The day is coming to an end. I wish I had more time.
You plan on staying up late, too? This kind of schedule is too much for anyone to bear.
Since the God of Light has arranged for us to meet, then... Hello, I'm Wayne Pittman, a judge of the Lumo Hall of Justice.
Stay calm!
Back then, all I could do was lie in bed all day. It was the God of Light who saved me. The God of Light illuminated my soul with righteousness and guided me to spread this righteousness across the land... though I have yet to truly fulfill God's will.
I will never forget that night in Umbraton. My colleagues died one by one. Fatigue glued my feet to the ground, and my soul wept... I will find the truth if it's the last thing I do!
Reading through files always results in unexpected discoveries. Not only does it help me to work more effectively, it also brings me closer to the truth behind the rebellion. Of course, it's also interesting to look at the judgments made in different regions.
I will judge fairly.
Unlike his usual professional look, Pittman seems to have been influenced by the festivity of Mooncrown Day when he chose his outfit. It carries a gentleness not often seen in him without losing his usual firmness and elegance. Of course, this is not because he is spoken for, but simply to be a qualified messenger and fulfill a long-cherished wish of someone else.
Detonator (B+)
Crowd Controller (A)
A
+Excellent active ability - pushes are significantly better than pulls because you can use them to push dangerous bosses away on certain stages (think Solmorph)
+Active is low CD, making him perfect for Tessa comps
-Equipment is less useful than it appears, given that you're already dodging damage via his push
Pittman has two primary functions: push dangerous things away from you, and simp for Tessa. It turns out both of these functions are actually really great! Tessa comps will be an argument for nerds smarter than me to argue for time immemorial, and knockback can actually be a lifesafer on certain Spire floors and Calamity Codex bosses. The rest of the kit is decent, but that's more than enough to make him a fun unit if you obtained him during his event.
