Although it's nothing like the weapons traditionally used by knights in Lumopolis, Leyn, who cares more about a weapon's practical use than its looks, doesn't mind it at all, which reflects his character more or less... Leyn can infuse Luminatics into this weapon to make it continuously rotate, accelerate, and activate a switch to make Lumina gush out to destroy his enemies.
Common Gift. Best effect when given to Lumopolis Aurorians. Thin, delicate sheet of silver as light as feather. A favorite in Lumopolis.
Common Gift. Best effect when given to forthright Aurorians. A specialty from the wasteland. Straightforward people enjoy this unique taste very much.
Valuable Gift. Best effect when given to Lumopolis Aurorians. Lumamber packaged in gold. The primary gem of high-society Lumopolis.
Valuable Gift. Best effect when given to forthright Aurorians. A box of tools for most crafting and repairing needs. A particular favorite of no-nonsense people.
An upright judge of Lumopolis who hates all evils, and he always treats others equally. At the same time, he has a stubborn and aloof side.

Leyn is absolutely awesome! He's responsible in his work; reliable in battle; a good cook; a skilled gardener; a talented handyman. It's no surprise he became a judge so young, despite not being an aristocrat. His strong sense of justice does mean that some people find him hard to get along with... but he's always seemed open and friendly to me! And he's the only person I've met from Lumopolis who shares my Illumina style
But... Hmm, how should I put this? He's open and friendly, but that's as far as it goes. When there's work to do, he's perfectly happy to do it together. But when the work is done, it is as if he becomes a completely different person. A stranger who quietly walks away. It's like there's an invisible wall between him and everyone else. Leyn... he's more complex than you might expect.
—Vice.
You want to hear all about me? Okay, if you insist...
It was a very ordinary beginning. Cliched, even. I was born in Lower Lumopolis, and my family was relatively well off compared to those of the kids I knew. But my parents weren't content with what they had. They cheated on each other, and they fought. However, they didn't argue about the cheating; they argued about me. I was the only thing holding them together, and they had great expectations of me. All I could do was listen and make sure dinner was ready on time, and the flowers were watered.
I lived there, in that so-called home, for fifteen years. Then my father was injured, which meant I had the opportunity to go and find work... and to leave.
So it's hardly a courageous story, but that's how I came to join the army.
I worked so hard. I wanted to become a great knight, fighting for what I believed to be right. But over time, things started to seem off. My superiors favored me, and they would always give me the "best" jobs. But for some reason, those jobs always had to do something with the noble ladies. I'd have to guard a tea party, serve as a bodyguard, or even get an invitation to "work" in their mansions. And that wasn't what I wanted. But my superiors—the people I looked up to—just told me I should be glad the nobles liked me and get on with the work.
And that was when I realized some things never change no matter where I am, at home or in the army. My only option was to refuse. And after I was being ungrateful a few times, they moved me to the logistics division, where I served as an escort for merchant caravans. For anyone else, that might have felt humiliating. But it was all I had ever wanted.
It was tough work with no hope of advancement. But that also meant it was simple and honest. For me, that was enough.
It is ridiculous, isn't it? I was only eighteen and already I'd given up on all life's possibilities. Although maybe it was also inevitable after fifteen years of being trapped at home and watching the world from the window. That lasted until I met Brock.
There was a big caravan to escort and we were short-handed, so Lumopolis hired some mercenaries. Naturally, the weirdos and oddballs of both groups ended up working together—nobody else wanted to work with us, after all.
Brock wasn't a team player and never thought before acting. Normally if I met someone I couldn't work with, I'd just get the job done solo. But Brock... he kept picking fights with me. I think he thought I was ignoring him because I looked down on him, which is ridiculous. But I had to take him a bit more seriously and work alongside him.
And that mission ended up being a failure. Brock lost his job because of it.
But it also made me start thinking about my future differently. If I could learn how to work with Brock, someone with a completely different personality from me, then maybe I could learn how to do other things too? Make other changes. That was when I decided to become a judge.
Of course, it's next to impossible for ordinary folk to become judges. I was only able to achieve my goal with help from a noble. I wouldn't have allowed myself to accept that kind of assistance in the past. But I think I've learned to take a broader view of things now, rather than just automatically reject help from others.
And that's how I got where I am today. I worked hard at my job as a judge. At first, I was excluded and became marginalized. Then I teamed up with Tina... then I met you.
It hasn't all been smooth sailing. But I truly believe that if I keep up the hard work, I will one day bring more justice into the world.
Hello, given that we've known each other for a while now...
I must make a confession.
Sorry to interrupt you.
Hello, I am Leyn, a judge from Lumopolis.
I heard someone has filed a complaint about me over cooperation issue. Is that true?
There is something I would like you to know, regardless.
Good morning.
Hello. I have a question regarding the breakfast menu.
Are you free at the moment?
I am sorry to disturb you this early in the morning.
My apologies for not being able to work on time today.
Good afternoon.
Are you still awake?
Good evening.
All young girls with romantic hearts have once dreamt of being rescued by a dashing hero. This kind of fantasy, however, doesn't seem to be in the cards for Leyn.
I'm a judge, so I cannot criticize Lumopolis, because helping it grow is part of my job.
I admire the practicality of Illumina. But I cannot agree with their emphasis on discipline over justice.
White Night up high!
Eclipsites seem to exist solely to attack Aurorians. That makes them my foe.
Tina needs a lot of sleep, but she takes her work seriously. That's good enough for me.
Brock... I'm very grateful to him, but I also really don't want to see him again.
When I'm free, I like to water my flowers, fix antique clocks, make delicious meals... Ah, happy times.
I cannot stand injustice... or chili peppers hiding in salads.
The Colossus is a mysterious construction... Although I suppose it is like a family member to you.
I'm on standby. Do you have any orders?
Leyn, reporting for duty. If you need anything, simply say so. Oh, you just want to chat with me? Well, if that's what you wish, so be it.
Fall back! I'll hold the rear!
We win! Please check the spoils.
I am always ready.
Happy New Year! I look forward to continue being in your care in the coming year. Who would have ever expected I would say such a thing?
Got it.
Hard work pays off.
I know how to make progress now!
This here, is my resolve.
Are you sleeping? Where's the blanket... ah, there it is. Oh, sorry for waking you. But if you really are tired, you can take a nap. It's okay.
Step by step.
Alchemy Stars!
A lot of people scoff at the idea of justice. But it's not something to be laughed at. At least for the Lumopolis judges, it must be our only standard.
I'm more concerned with what's inside, or what's practical, than with appearances. People always scrutinize and point their fingers at the way I dress and my weapon, accusing me of looking like someone from Illumina. What do you think?
Most of the world's unhappiness stems from injustice. I know that I cannot change that fact. But I'll do everything I can to root out injustice where I see it.
If possible, I'd rather not work with others. No, it's not that I don't like your friends. I just work more efficiently alone.
If I'm going to be tough on others, I need to be tough on myself. Enforcing justice calls for the willingness to castigate ourselves for our wrongdoings without mercy. I hope you will guide me whenever possible.
I'm sorry I misled you. I didn't want to work with others because of my own failings. I now finally have the courage to admit that.
If you're tired, I can make you a pot of scented tea and some dessert. I grow the flowers and fruit myself... Sorry, I get a bit overexcited talking about my plants.
People always say I should talk more casually with my friends. Ahem... H-How do you do, fellow judges—no, I can't do it. Forget I spoke.
I, Leyn, do hereby swear to serve at your side as your knight. I shall follow each of your orders as long as they do not go against justice. I bestow upon you my utmost loyalty—Oh, too serious? S-Sorry. I don't know how to be any other way...
In an effort to expand my horizons, I've been reading detective novels as well as case files. Detective novels these days are getting increasingly absurd... but they are so much fun.
I'm terribly sorry. You're getting stared at because you're out walking with me. Some say I'm popular with the ladies, but I don't like it. I'm sorry for the extra trouble.
Forgive me if I overstep, but I have some thoughts I wish to express. Relax, it has nothing to do with my work as a judge. It's just that, as your knight, I would like you to snack less between meals.
Hello, and welcome back! There's no time to waste, so please assign me a task.
Good morning. People are at their best in the morning, so it's a good time to tackle any difficult tasks.
It's late, you should get ready for bed. I can take any work you have left off your hands.
Wow, you're still awake? If you have any urgent tasks to take care of, I stand ready to help.
Good day. I'm Leyn, a Lumopolis judge. I shall continue to fight for justice even here. I hope you'll be forgiving if I cause any offense.
For you, for justice.
My childhood... was not a happy one. I still don't know how to deal with my parents. So I ran away and joined the army. When it comes down to it, I'm really nothing but a coward.
I loved the army life, but found all the politics and relationships hard to navigate. And back then, I didn't have the confidence to change things. Perhaps I was lucky to meet Brock.
It was Brock who helped me change the way I think, to be more proactive. I worked hard to become a judge, and then partnered up with Tina. And of course, I'm also here to accompany you on the journey.
Leave this to me.
Detonator (A+)
(S+ at BT3)
A+ (S+ at BT3)
+Incredibly High Damage at BT3
+Straightforward kit
-Lags behind Thunder’s best DPS options, Florine and Reinhardt, with 0 utility to boot
-Subpar performance at BT0
Barring the fact that Leyn has a second skill, he’s a fairly no-frills DPS. However, there are a few caveats to his impressive rating. First, he’s very reliant on BT3, which improves not only his total damage, but also his quality of life. Before that, he’s arguably worse than Tessa, a 4-Star. Second, you need to do a bit of face-tanking to get the most out of his 0CD skill, which can cause problems on some stages. Nonetheless, he’s a fairly reliable Detonator, and a good addition for any account.
