While operating it for the first time, Ciel mastered the use of this wrench without a teacher. After that, Ciel used this wrench to complete the assembly of two sets of dynamic mecha and even repair many key parts in emergencies... To Ciel, this wrench is not an ordinary tool but an extension of her craftsmanship.

One day, when I was performing daily maintenance on the Colossus, the Fireflies suddenly got restless. I went to them and heard muffled footsteps, followed by the faint sound of mechanical parts grinding together. What appeared before me was... a robot of some sort? Then I quickly came to my senses and realized that it was probably a dynamic mech suit.
After that, the timorous voice of a girl came from inside. The voice sounded a bit strange because it was confined within the helmet. "Is this %s's Colossus? I'm Ciel, tech personnel of the Illumina Federation. Don't be afraid, this dynamic mecha was made by me."
Ciel? Ciel! That's when I remembered. She was one of my juniors and was nicknamed the "Genius Girl Engineer." That she was, seeing as how she was the one who beat me in that year's design competition and took the championship from me...
—Vice
Ah, should I call you Navigator or %s? I'm Ciel, tech personnel of the Illumina Federation. I'm currently in charge of... tunnel excavation.
I know what you're wondering. Why would I be assigned to such a task, right? It's mainly because of my mecha. According to Tech Officer Gronru, this mecha is very suitable for it, and I'd be able to test the practicality of my design, so I took this job. After all, I was the one who designed, assembled and commissioned this mecha, and this is the second one of its kind. Speaking of which, you may notice that the leg armor doesn't match the rest of the suit. It is, in fact, a leftover piece of my first dynamic mecha. That experiment failed and this leg piece is the only thing left of it. I've been wearing it ever since as a reminder to myself of that fiasco.
Many people in Illumina call me the "Genius Girl Engineer." But I was just introduced to it earlier than others. My parents were quite strict with me. They were just common laborers, but my grandfather was an outstanding engineer.
I have no impression of my grandfather and everything I know about him comes from others. That set of conceptual designs is the only thing that remains of his talent. It conceptualizes a dynamic mech unit that's easy to operate, is incredibly reliable, and can adapt to all environments. Despite fully understanding its structure now, every time I look at it, I'm still amazed by the ingenuity of its design. This design is the origin of my nickname. According to my parents, when I was a child, I claimed that I would one day make Grandpa's design a reality. They believed then that I was a genius and continuously nurtured me in this regard. And I worked hard to not let them down.
I wonder if my fate is intertwined with my grandfather's design. It has laid my life's purpose before me, and will accompany forever...
Have you ever accomplished something in one go? Everyone may have had such an experience, me for instance.
When I graduated from school and started receiving guidance from Tech Officer Gronru, I became preoccupied with the thought of actually creating the mech in the blueprint. Just like others say, I was young and fearless back then, and I had unlimited energy and inspiration. I resolved technical issues like they were nothing and in the end it took me less than a year to make the mecha that I'd thought would take my entire life!
However, things went south when I left to participate in a group activity and forgot to turn off the power of a component I'd been testing, which resulted in an accident. When I ran back to the nearly collapsed lab, I couldn't do anything but watch my dynamic mecha being smashed into smithereens. I ended up injuring my legs trying to salvage this leg armor... I had to stay in bed for a year before I recovered. But afterwards, I was unable to successfully create the mech unit again even using the same blueprint. The one I'm using isn't nearly as powerful as the original suit, which this leg piece was part of.
Thus, whenever I look at it, I'm reminded of the devastating end of my old mecha and can't forgive myself.
During the year I was stuck in bed... My parents took very good care of me, but I could detect a hint of disappointment in their eyes and it pierced my heart like a nail. That's why I put on this leg armor and never remove it. It's the only way I can sleep at ease and not think about their disappointment all the time.
Maybe it was that, or my year of rest... either way, I changed. Even though I still try my best to reproduce the damaged dynamic mecha I lost, and still have the tendency to lose myself in drawings and knowledge, I think from time to time that if I hadn't discovered the blueprint and hadn't been viewed by my parents as a genius, I wouldn't have had to study all the time in school and perhaps... I'd have been able to make some friends.
Ah. But it's wrong to think that way. I must be too tired, like a jammed machine acting uncharacteristically.
Yes. That must be it.
Navigator, d-do you want a gift?
Do you ever worry sometimes?
Navigator, I have exciting news for you!
Thank you, Navigator!
Hi, Navigator. How did you sleep?
Navigator, are you taking a nap?
Hi, I need a pick-me-up drink.
Navigator, may I ask how you usually fall asleep?
Ciel carefully made many plans, hoping to invite you to go to the sea with her while she pilots her dynamic mecha.
Illumina has assembled all of Astra's top scientists, and I am lucky to have their guidance.
Some of the Rediesel Wrench artisans are puzzling. They lack any concrete knowledge of science, but they can fix things based simply off experience.
Splendor Illumina! I must complete that dynamic mecha!
The Eclipsites' body structures resemble some type of sophisticated machinery, I wonder who created them...
Without Tech Officer Gronru, I'd still be stuck drafting designs, unable to make heads or tails of this dynamic mecha.
Chief Charon is a genius when it comes to conducting and controlling trains, but in everyday life... Ahem, well, it's fine once you get used to it.
Even if I had ten times the IQ, I still wouldn't be able to invent something as comfy as a hammock! If I didn't have to work on the mecha unit, I'd lie in it for 20 hours a day if I could.
Those who mock others in public should be put inside a ladle furnace.
Its structure, systems, and components are far beyond current technological capabilities. I wonder about the geniuses behind such a design...
The structure of this Colossus is so unique. I must measure and study it in detail.
You can leave the engineering problems to me, but I can only act as an assistant in other areas. I can't even give advice. Is this really okay?
I've dug an escape tunnel...
As easy as tightening a screw!
Styx, get ready.
Yet another new year... I should hurry up with the dynamic mecha design.
Do you need help excavating a tunnel?
System updated.
Framework patched.
I'm feeling full of power and energy.
How about sitting in the mecha and taking a nap? Nobody else is here. Um, C-Ce... I'm not slacking off!
My technological powers have grown stronger.
Alchemy Stars.
The drive is the foundation of dynamic mecha, and it must account for energy materials, conversion ratio, structure, and transmission. Oh, it's just all so complicated.
I wonder if there are Caelestite scientists because I'm not sure how to maintain this incredible Colossus. C-Ce... Did I say something I shouldn't have?
Many of the Caelestite's things are mysterious. I tried for a whole day and night to draw the front view of a Firefly, but I failed...
Drafting designs is a form of art! Vice is correct. And it's superior to drawing because it relies only on precision.
Dynamic mecha are useful not only in combat, but also in exploration, excavation, and construction. They will be critical machines in the Illumina Federation's future.
Navigator, I've come to a new conclusion regarding my blueprint design! My previous calculations were incorrect, but this time everything appears just fine and dandy, so the perfect dynamic mecha suit should soon be...
Do you want to sketch designs? I have a compass and ruler, both of which are family heirlooms. I've never let anyone borrow them... Not even Vice.
Navigator, shouldn't the Colossus undergo some major repairs? Or perhaps an update or two? Don't worry, I'll give you plenty of engineering assistance.
C-Ce... This dynamic mecha suit is unlikely to last much longer. Can you repair it using Caelestite technology?
I heard that you've been to many places, have you encountered anything new and fascinating? Such as the green ores from Northland or sandworm blood from the Rediesel Desert?
Scientists are the most important. They're the soul of an organization, much like the engine of a mech unit!
Who invented long-distance running and swimming? These things should be obliterated from existence, like errors in design drafts!
Navigator, have you made a schedule for today? Otherwise, things might get out of hand.
You got up early. Do you want to tune the Colossus?
Sometimes a break is necessary, such as lying in a hammock for a while.
The middle of the night is the ideal time for making calculations and sketching designs! Of course, it would be even better with inspiration.
I may be in charge of tunnel excavation, but I'm actually an engineer! This dynamic mecha is my creation, but it's still an unfinished prototype. Don't touch it! Oh, by the way, my name is Ciel.
The solar arrows are on standby.
The dynamic mecha on the legs doesn't match the current set; it was the result of a failed project.
My parents are ordinary workers, but they encouraged me to become an engineer. As it turns out, they made the right choice.
If I didn't have such a proclivity for playing around, I probably would've completed the perfect dynamic mecha suit by now.
Let me be the team's engine!
Preemptive Converter (A)
S
+Preemptive conversion is vital
-Somewhat weak outside of converter value
-One of three preemptive converters that cannot generate enhanced tiles
Ciel is the first new four-tile converter since the game's release. Her damage is… okay, but the real reason she's interesting is her role in AFK thunder teams, which can now reliably hit Aurora Time every three turns by running all three 4T converters. She's also another sidegrade for new players, though truth is that Nemesis and Irridon still outpace three 4T converters in harder content.
Note: All the 4-tile preemptive converters should be viewed as SS-tier for the purposes of 95% of the game. The SS-tier converters are all out of reach unless you whale or are patient and the 4-tile preemptive converters are all capable of handling all content together up to 80+ spire.
