I saw a stranger on the Colossus one day. She sat with her legs crossed, and she was holding a gunblade. I walked up to her, but it was almost if she didn't see me. She just looked dead ahead, and wasn't even blinking. "Are you here for %s?" I asked out of curiosity, but she didn't reply. Not a single hair on her moved! I waved my hands in front of her eyes, and once again, no reaction.
She looked so rigid, I thought she could've been... Well, many possibilities flew through my mind, but I was already reaching out to her nose to... "Sorry to have kept you waiting, Casta." %s's words startled me, and "Casta" got up immediately. I found out later that she sometimes entered an "energy-saving mode," and according to her, she's been doing that more often since arriving on the Colossus. She's not sure why, though.
Maybe the Colossus makes her feel safe?
That must be it!

Oh, nothing. I was just wondering if you know where Pollux went? She usually tells me where she goes, but not today, so I'm a little worried. I know she's more than capable, and that worrying about anything happening to her is the last thing anyone would do... but that's precisely why I'm worrying about her. Does that make sense?
No, you've got it wrong. Pollux isn't my superior. She's my... Hm, I don't actually know how to define our relationship. You could say she's my friend, my irreplaceable partner in Raven's Blood, my family for the past decade... but that still wouldn't tell you how much she means to me. Just look at me. She took on the most dangerous bounties to get me my prosthetic, she taught me everything about self-defense, and she rescued me from certain death in the ruins of a building.
So how should I describe our friendship? You tell me.
When Pollux decided to guard the dilapidated church in Euphoria and keep rescuing children, she told me that it was her decision, and that I was free to leave. I didn't hesitate for a single moment before telling her that I would stay with her. I was an orphan that made my way there, and if it weren't for the sisters there, I would've probably been taken by a gang. But Pollux was different... She went through worse things than what those orphans have seen, and she knew the price of going astray better that I did. She could have escaped this sad place, but she chose to stay because of some kids she didn't even know. She would never become a nun, but her behavior has granted her the utmost purity.
As someone who received help from her, how could I leave?
To make sure they lived somewhat normal lives, Pollux and I started working under the name of Raven's Blood. Most of the time, the jobs we got were fairly easy, just getting rid of Eclipsites for small shops in Euphoria in return for bread. These types of life-threatening jobs pay much better elsewhere of course, but in Euphoria, nothing is valued more than food. We worked in shifts so we could keep the children fed, but since the Eclipsites didn't wreak havoc every day, even if we taunted them and killed them, we wouldn't get paid. Sometimes we even gave our food to the children... And it was on one of those hungry nights that I was lured by the smell of food to an underground casino—in Euphoria, you can find maybe three, or even four of these just in an alley. I won a huge meal that night. Later on, I would visit the casino and win some food for the children whenever we ran out of goods. They say that I'm blessed by Lady Luck, and I don't dislike it. After all, I traded for it with a life of misfortune, didn't I?
Sometimes Pollux doesn't do her work properly, either, and would save a couple lives or two while slacking off. But not everyone pays their debt like Nekoyashiki does. He didn't look it, but turned out to be an intelligence broker. After he recovered, he hooked us up with higher-paying jobs, and didn't ask for anything in return. I thought he was a simple guy who just wanted to help us because we helped him, until I heard him trying to convince Pollux to leave Euphoria one day. I knew she wasn't going to leave, but I no longer liked him. He still gives us jobs, and even candies and books for the children... he thinks the church is his home or something. He claims that he's not like us, and gets mad when I take him seriously. He's not a very forthcoming character.
Well, I think I know who to ask about Pollux's whereabouts. I didn't expect to tell you any of this, though. Don't let Pollux know I told you. I don't want her to feel burdened by my feelings. Anyway, see you later.
Don't sleep with your window open when it's chilly outside, or you'll get strep throat.
I saved a freezing pigeon yesterday.
You mentioned you want to know more about Euphoria, Navigator.
There are a lot of very disciplined Aurorians aboard your Colossus.
Navigator.
Morning. It's nice and warm today.
Morning.
I tried a bite of the loot from yesterday.
Morning.
The noon sun is too bright.
Casta invites you to a casino. How is she planning to show that she's blessed by luck? Intriguing.
With just two people, Raven's Blood managed to carve out their own turf in Euphoria. Pretty impressive, huh?
That Corax guy from Umbraton seems pretty dependable. I guess there might be some merit to that place, after all.
Think twice before provoking the wrath of Raven's Blood.
Eh, these things are not much different from the targets at an amusement park's shooting booth.
We stopped needing words to describe our relationship a long time ago. All that needs saying is that I'll always stand by her side.
He may not admit it, but it's clear to me that he's done a lot for us. Just don't tell him I said so!
If you really trust me this much, then... I don't need any payment from you.
Cumbersome tasks... I do them when asked, but not because I want to.
For something as big as this Colossus to fly through the sky so freely... I can't say I'm not jealous.
Looks like Lady Luck has her eyes on me today.
I just have to keep you safe, right? Don't worry, protecting others is my specialty! Hmm? Have I misunderstood something?
Lady Luck's on vacation...
Just as I expected.
Best position secured.
Happy New Year. Looks like we made it safely through another year.
You... want me to work in a team?
Told you my skills were the real deal.
Let's talk about a raise, huh?
Victory is assured.
This kind of peace can make a person lazy, and laziness leads to complacency, which makes one weak. Rest assured, that'll never happen to me.
Mm, this feels great.
Alchemy Stars.
To be honest, I feel at ease living in Euphoria because there's no need to pay any mind to anything except survival.
Oh, you don't need to be wary of me. I only pull something like that with Nekoyashiki. Besides, my aim is flawless.
Fighting is for keeping the people and places you love from being taken from you.
Drawing your gun too slowly is equivalent to handing your life over to the enemy. Trust me, I'll never let that happen.
This work has really improved my skills as a mercenary, so thanks for that. Looks like Lady Luck hasn't given up on me yet.
No matter what kind of life I lead in the future, I'll never forget the feeling of battle—the feeling of being alive.
I have full confidence in my luck, since I always get to see you around.
You can... sense my trust in you? Fantastic.
A chocolate bar... for me? You DO remember that I swore off that stuff, right? Thanks, anyway!
Losing my right leg hasn't been all bad, you know? At least now, every step I take is completely thought out.
Pollux? I don't need to keep a constant watch over her. Our hearts are connected, so we know what's happening to one another better than anyone else.
I feel like I can do anything whenever I'm with you. Is this what it feels like to be trusted?
Have you eaten yet? I have to keep my blood sugar high before battle, or else it could mean trouble.
I've gotten so used to cloudy skies. Will I finally have a chance to see the sun, too?
I'm not bothering you, am I? Sorry, I'm still breaking in this new prosthetic leg.
Don't worry, I'm still here. I'll remain in your view until the morning comes.
I'm no professional, but you won't be disappointed with my skills. First things first though: You better pay me for my skills' worth.
Awaiting your orders.
Pollux has been more to me than a friend or family member for a long time. I've never had any desire to be a hero, but I would do anything to protect her... even become a villain.
At first, I didn't realize just how lucky I was. But that might not have been such a bad thing. Once you start relying on this kind of good fortune, you find out quickly that it's always accompanied by misfortune in equal measure.
They say it's easy for people to get addicted to the bitterness of hardship, and I'm no different. A life of strife suits me just fine. Oh, but as for cigarettes, Pollux and I swore off that stuff long ago.
Let's improvise and adapt.
Detonator (A)

+She looks like a character from Chainsaw Man
+Chain during her active skill hits quite hard
+Good damage on 1x1 and 2x2 enemies, making her incredibly flexible on budget teams
+Normals punch way above their pay grade due to crit mechanics.
-Awful chain outside of her active, and the splitting is heavily unreliable
-Active doesn’t benefit from chain bonus modifiers, nor double chains, which hamstrings her burst.
-Doesn’t want captain slot, as her chain is rather sad without the active helping it.
-Areia, just Areia
Casta’s kit is very hard to properly explain without a visual, but the basic idea is that she has very powerful normals that build up stacks. These stacks can then be cleared on her active to release a second chain-combo with a different shape, which combines with her otherwise terrible chain effectively to come out neutral on 2x2 but significantly stronger against 1x1 at point blank. It suits her theme of being a gunblade-user pretty well, but it’s a tad inconsistent compared to the premier options in forest, and lacks a lot of the modifiers and buffs that define the best-in-slot detonators. Still, she’s a five-star that puts up numbers close to Yao and Beryl. It wouldn’t hurt you to raise her if you lack options for a second or third forest team for things like Codex and Abyss
