Consumes 20 Lone Energy to enter Lone state in the current round, increasing Chain Combo range and damage. At the end of the round, if the remaining Lone Energy at the end of the round is no less than 10, remaining Lone Energy will be cleared and retain Lone state in the next round.

Once two separate swords, they can be combined into a double-tipped sword when necessary. Barton wields it as if it's a swift wind sweeping all these enemies.

After using the "Chord Link" device, though the appearance and abilities of Illumina Federation's Legion Commander have changed, he still remains a warmonger at heart.

In a sense, Commander Barton is an old acquaintance of %s and myself.
Even though he is often quick to kick up a row and drag %s to the front line under the glorified excuse of "honing his mind," there is no denying that Commander Barton is a formidable and responsible officer.
After gaining his new power, he seems to have changed somewhat. Compared with his previous tendency to be rash and impulsive, he now thinks before jumping to action. It may just be a good thing for both Grand Marshal Reinhardt and the 2nd Legion.
According to Commander Barton, he is exceptionally elated to have gained a new power, as it signifies that he will possess more power to protect Illumina. It is without a doubt that this is the edited version, as his exact words were, "This way, I can send more Eclipsites flying back to the Eternal Night with a single punch."

Yo, you're here! Want to join me in my special training?
What? Did you just ask me why I still need to train in the afternoon when I have clearly trained in the morning? Don't underestimate training, kid, since this is my secret tactic to becoming formidable! So long as you maintain a good condition, you will not drop the ball on the battlefield. What's more, I have acquired a new power, so I will need new training methods. Even so, I cannot fall behind on my previous training!
Want to know where I have learned this from? It is, of course, through my years of experience! Strength, endurance, speed, and reflexes... Everything you require on the battlefield can be trained, so want to give it a try? Trust me, once you start training as I do, your frail body will become as strong as a qualified Illuminan soldier. No? How boring! Maybe another time, then.
Reinhardt and I go way back.
Back then, we were all still ordinary soldiers. We would always have the most incredible time playing wargame when there was no war. I still remember this one time when I and... Well, her name was still Denier at that time. Anyway, I used a trick or two, but she still won the game. Yet, she still tattletale on me. When Reinhardt found out, she was so pissed that she had chased me down three blocks!
Simmering with anger, I literally fought with her on the spot! What a fantastic fight we had! Hahaha, we were right in the prime of youth back then. Due to the fight, the officer had us run 100 laps as punishment. We were still unwilling to concede even though our legs were wobbling. Now that I think about it, it sure seems so nostalgic. At the very least, Reinhardt's mind was not preoccupied with so many troublesome matters.
I am so tired of saying this. If we continue to recuperate like this, the deceptive peace will chip away at my men's fighting strength and vigilance. At this rate, Illumina will be done for!
I have no idea what goes on in the heads of the Committee, but the Eclipsites are already so close at hand! If we still do not attack at this time, could it be that they wish to treat them as ornaments? Otherwise, are those pedantic elders waiting for the moment when the Eclipsites breach the Gannon City to be reminded of the fact that the "exterminate Eclipsites" option still exists?
If it were up to me, my men would have long since sorted out those Eclipsites. Not only will I send them back to Eternal Night, but I will also ensure they dare not approach Illumina ever again!
You should know very well, %s, that these Eclipsites are nothing but nasty things. Anyone who spares the Eclipsites is definitely not a good person either!
Innately formidable? No one is born strong! Every Illuminan soldier is subjected to ordeals of blood and fire, where they strive to survive and grow! Fear and cower before enemies? Those are things that only cowards will do, and they will never become strong!
Remember, there is no growth without risks. That is also how I have gained this new power, risking my life to knock down and crush every single Eclipsite... As you know, this process nearly took my life and left me with more scars on my body, but I have no regrets. The power that erupted forcefully during my dire moment has allowed me to reach beyond my limits and unleash an even stronger power. Hence, the most significant progress now is to harness this power.
So, what do you think? Want to have a few bouts with me and my new power? I promise I'll go easy on you.
Boy, I can lend you my double-edged sword.
The weather in that place was really cold a few days ago.
It suddenly occurred to me today that you don't have it easy.
Navigator!
Hey, you there?
We meet again, lad.
Blade strike!
It feels good! Amazing!
I've learned something new from battles lately.
Barton seems to be acting rather strangely ever since he gained new power in Eraveil. Hopefully, it is just your imagination...
I don't know what the higher-ups are planning, but no one can stop me in battle as long as I'm in Illumina.
Rediesel Wrench folks waste too much time on insignificant things. I could make better use of their skills.
Splendor Illumina!
Eclipsites are nothing more than brainless garbage, tch. What makes them bold enough to oppose us?
Out of all the other commanders, only Hiiro strikes my fancy. Hey, I mean in terms of military expertise!
Wrath always says she loves fair fights, but where can you find that in a war? How naive is that?
See, I was born to fight! Fighting is the only thing that makes me feel alive!
How can anyone waste their entire day drinking tea and reading the news? Sorry, that's just not for me!
Your Colossus hasn't changed a bit. I don't see any scuffs or bullet holes or anything. Should I start by scratching it with my sword?
Feeling rusty? How about going a round or two with me?
Ha, you're starting to come to me voluntarily for training now? You've made quite the improvement.
It's not time to give up yet!
Charge and strike while the iron is hot!
Hey, don't get in my way!
My wish for the new year is to wipe out the Eclipsites!
Where's the fight?
This is what I'm talking about!
I could do this forever!
Who's next?!
Hey, I've played three rounds of wargames in my head already. What's taking you so long?
I can still get stronger! For sure!
Alchemy Stars!
Don't tell me that my appearance scares you? There are people with alligator heads and dog tails walking around every day on the Colossus and you think I'm the weird one?
This year's rookies are the absolute worst I've ever trained! Children who grew up in peacetime are completely lacking in wariness!
Keep your back straight and head up high! There's no safe haven for you in a battle, get that into your heads!
I've tried so many weapons over the years, but nothing feels better than this pair of mergeable blades.
Sneak attacks can be effective, but that's not my style these days. Not when I can easily defeat foes head-on. You wanna give it a shot?
I've come to realize that we can't control the power within us until we can overcome ourselves to truly harness it one day. Thank heavens I've done just that.
If I recall correctly, you know a few of my soldiers, don't you? That's good. Oh yeah, White Dwarf rarely talks, but he never lets me down in a battle.
You're the only one worthy of being my opponent in wargames.
You are gifted at leading troops. Don't take that as a compliment, though. Natural talent is nothing to gloat about. I'd rather see your persistence and will to fight!
Is that an essay? How's writing that going to help you win battles? I advise you to go for a run instead, so at least you'll have a chance of getting away from a powerful foe!
Having friends in every corner of the world doesn't make your journey any easier. More relationships often means more conflicts. Don't say I never warned you.
You wanna know how I put up with boredom? What makes you think I can? It's just that there aren't really many opportunities to feel bored lately.
Ugh, why does a commander still have to deal with stupid paperwork?
You're up early. Is it because you want to train with me? You could've just told me...
Finally, downtime for me! Think I'll practice fencing before bed. Wanna join me?
Still up? Don't just space out. Come spar with me!
It's only been a few days, yet you already don't recognize me? Well, I'll see you in a fight next time and show you my true form! Freaked you out, didn't I? Hahaha!
Time to clean up!
Do soldiers need supervision all the time? Shouldn't you hold yourselves to high standards? I've been training myself since the day I put on this cap!
You were probably just an infant when I first met Reinhardt. I do miss those days, before those Committee bastards rubbed off on her.
I've always said, soldiers can't cower in battle. We must always charge towards the enemy. This is what has gotten me to where I am now!
Move, and make it quick!

+Interesting Vis-like system that can theoretically sustain itself as long as you can maintain normals on targets
+GREAT multiplier on Lone Wolf form chain combo
+Great normal attack value against multiple mobs in Lone State

+AS Community Supports Forest Kings Loving Forest Kings
-Desperately wants captain slot to get value out of active, which means competing with Hiiro
-Preemptive is still gated by BT3.
-Significantly worse multi-tile bossing than Areia
-Very unreliable if not in captain slot
-Doesn't generate Lone marks off chain during skill
-Pretty ladies will not play war games with him he's crying send help.
Barton is a himbo 6-star detonator who- as a burst dps- is worse than Areia, despite her being a lower rarity. But unlike Yao before him, he has some pretty great applications that let him shine on numerous stages– Namely, high-powered mob clearing.
Barton's primary gimmick is his skill. He gains stacks by attacking, performing normals, and chaining. Once he reaches 20 stacks, his skill places him in the Lone state. AS LONG AS YOU 10 STACKS OR MORE AT THE END OF A TURN, HE WILL STAY IN THE LONE STATE. This means he ideally takes the captain slot on mob stages, where he can use his strong normals and chain to clear mobs, keeping up his skill as long as possible to rip through waves.
Once again, unlike Yao, his damage is still exceptionally strong and he has the boon of being able to perform diagonal attacks. Barton DB still competes with Areia, and he loses outright as a secondary burst DPS. But as a high-power mob cleaner, he's one of the better units within his niche.
