An old notebook where Anatoli records all the intelligence he's gathered over time. Although it's covered in various labels and tags, and you might catch the occasional glimpse of some of Anatoli's doodles.

A calm and reliable intelligence officer of the Illumina Federation who makes unexpected complaints occasionally. No one knows whether these complaints are made intentionally or unintentionally.
Name: Anatoli
Nickname: Latent Exposure
Gender: Male
Height: 5'11''
Birthday: December 31
Birthplace: Gannon City
Element: Forest
Affiliation: Illumina Federation
Fighting Style: Intel Gathering, Weakness Analysis
To be honest, I don't know a whole lot about Mr. Anatoli. All Intelligence Officers reporting directly to the Committee are always low-key and inscrutable. I probably wouldn't even know his name if he didn't volunteer information about himself after boarding Soroz.
Mr. Anatoli is calm and speaks very few words, so I thought he was aloof, until spotting the fish tank he carried with him. A fish-like creature was in it. He said he found it in a swamp in eternal night and kept it as a pet, even giving it a name... Bubble.
So I thought, maybe Mr. Anatoli isn't actually as stern and apathetic as he looked. He's probably just showing less emotion than usual...?

Most of the Intelligence Officers in Illumina started off as recon scouts. I was no exception.
I joined the military at the peak of the Darkover Crisis. All rookies had to fight and underwent baptism by fire. I chose the most dangerous battlefield: the eternal night border.
There, the days are short and the nights are long, rampant with Darkflow and Eclipsites. You had to spare no effort just to survive. All I could think about was revenge at first, since that's where Eclipsites killed my parents in battle.
But the darkness was an edge only for the Eclipsites. It was arduous enough for us Aurorians to just hold our ground, much less launch counteroffensives. Every time I fought the Eclipsites, I would suffer more injuries than how many I killed, and that really depressed me for a while.
When I first arrived in the Dark Zone, the leader of the remaining veterans in my recon unit was a veteran named Cleo. The vets were all seasoned pros in the sense that they knew many ways to save their own skin. I thought they were useless, but the truth is, I still use the tricks of surviving in the Dark Zone that they taught me to this date.
I was convinced they would all make it to retirement, but in a recon mission, they all sacrificed themselves just to deliver the key information that could turn the tide for Aurorians to launch counterstrikes. Cleo and I were the last two standing when he ran in the opposite direction from safety, drawing Eclipsites away so I could deliver the intel. He never came back.
That was also the mission when I learned to recon by an infusing shadow with weak Lumina... But it was too late. I couldn't save anyone.
The fish is called Bubble. It would spew bubbles whether it was happy or upset, which is why I named it that.
I found it in a swamp on the border of eternal night. At the time, I was leading a recon unit that just got to the Dark Zone to learn the lay of the land. On the way back to safety, we ran into a blizzard that forced us to find shelter until it passed.
Swamp water started to freeze in the meantime and this fish carelessly jumped onto the icy surface, flopping and struggling. I put it back into the marsh, but the rookies reminded me it would still die when the entire swamp froze.
So I emptied a canteen, filled it with swamp water and put the fish in, then put the jug in the deepest part of my overcoat to keep it from freezing. I was too weak to save my squad mates, but I was thinking maybe I could save the fish that wanted to live.
Doubt everything is the secret to an Intelligence Officer's survival as well as my motto.
Many failed experiences have told me that hard-earned intels aren't necessarily true or accurate, and false intels don't necessarily come from deliberate outside interference but possible internal misjudgment, sometimes even intentional. Therefore, suspicion is an intel officer's best trait and tool for survival, even toward those you know by heart.
It is exhausting to live a life of constant suspicion, but I learned the other side of the coin from you--trust. There are people from all factions on this Colossus, and even Lumopolis people can live in harmony with Rediesel Wrench folks here because of you. You've removed the schism between Aurorians, Navigator. The power to make Aurorians with polarizing beliefs trust each other is simply astonishing.
I just realized we'd known each other for some time now, Navigator.
Please do not divulge the doodle I showed you last time.
Are you busy, Navigator?
In my time working with you, I learned many new things.
I want to ask you a question, Navigator.
Good morning, Navigator.
Good morning.
May I take some of the leftover breakfast pastry with me, Navigator?
It's noon again, when the light is brightest and shadows are shortest...
Afternoon.
Do you have any hobbies, Navigator?
It's nighttime again.
It's getting dark...
Are you there, Navigator?
That day, Anatoli finds you and asks you to retrieve a book he left in the Lounge.
The Illumina Federation is a place that exists for the happiness of all. At least that's what I believe.
Northland is also close to the Dark Zone, but it has mountains and the Beacon protecting it. Such peace and comfort are truly enviable.
Splendor Illumina.
No matter where you may find yourself, Eclipsites are creatures that bring trouble and danger. Please be careful.
The Grand Marshal is a reliable leader. This is the conclusion I have drawn after careful observation.
I occasionally find myself compelled to complain to Commander Barton. I wish he would calm down a little more.
I like raising fish—is that surprising to you? See, this is what happens when you lack intel.
Blind faith is not a good thing. It can affect a commander's decisions.
Intelligence on Colossi in Illumina is scarce... Will you allow me to take a look around?
Don't worry about me, I'm just observing the others and gathering intelligence.
You seek my assistance... I don't have much experience, but if you could provide me with some detailed information regarding this task, I'll definitely try my best.
Our intelligence is flawed... Retreat for now.
An inevitable victory.
New tactics planned successfully.
Happy New Year, Navigator. In the new year, please allow me to collect intelligence for you and provide assistance on the Colossus.
Understood.
Intelligence accuracy upgraded.
A new combat plan has been drawn up.
The plan is ready for execution.
Aren't you resting yet, Navigator? Well then, let me use this free time to organize the intelligence I just collected.
Accumulating combat experience is also a way of gathering intelligence.
Alchemy Stars.
All living things carry a wealth of information about themselves. With sufficient intelligence, one can analyze a creature's behavioral patterns and motivations and even make predictions to a certain extent.
Huh... Hmm? Did you call me? No, I wasn't sleeping, I was just observing you and the others on this Colossus.
Caelestites possess the psychic ability that Aurorians do not. The ability is not only useful in combat, but also seems to provide significant advantages in gathering intelligence.
Don't let existing knowledge mislead you—as an intelligence officer, I rarely participate in combat, but that doesn't mean I'm not good at it.
An intelligence officer should aim to avoid unnecessary battles whenever possible, but if it is your command, I won't refuse.
I presume you are aware of my abilities and limitations... So, please give me any orders you see fit, and I will bring you the intelligence that will lead us to victory.
Hearsay cannot be used as intelligence. Information needs to be verified... For example, I only began to understand what kind of person you were after getting to know you.
On the battlefield, neither weapons nor intel are more important than trust. In the past, as a scout, I acted alone and didn't understand the meaning of trust, but now, things are different.
Do you want to see my notebook? Um... You can only look at the parts that do not involve Illumina's confidential information, and you cannot disclose the content of my notes to outsiders. You're not allowed to doodle on it, either.
This is my pet fish, Bubble, which I found in the swamp near the Dark Zone. You can touch it if you want. Rest assured, it's just an ordinary creature and isn't at all dangerous.
Please don't tamper with my notebook. It's not only a tool for recording intelligence, but also a weapon.
Every action leaves a trace. No matter how you try to cover it up, intelligence doesn't disappear into thin air. A bit of careful observation, and it all comes to light.
Welcome back. The intelligence has been organized and the work schedule has been arranged. Please take a look.
Good morning. It seems that you are someone who cannot live without work.
Good evening. It's almost break time, so there's no need to force yourself to keep working, and there's no reason why you shouldn't relax now and then.
It's so late... Haven't you gone to bed yet?
A Caelestite, flying a Colossus... you're indeed the one. Anatoli, Intelligence Officer of the Illumina Federation, happy to assist you. Please give your orders.
Ready when you are.
No one is born an intelligence officer. I started as a scout, accumulating experience and honing myself until I eventually became who I am today.
Raising a pet fish is a time-consuming task that requires regular feeding, cleaning green algae from the tank, and paying constant attention to the health of the fish... However, Bubble has always been very healthy, perhaps because it lived in the Eternal Night before.
Trusting someone means you're willing to entrust your safety and even your life to another person. It doesn't matter whether you're an ordinary foot soldier or an intelligence officer.
As you command.
